I wish for you to be in the flow as you go through your day. Do some day dreaming and feel the flow of energy and the Universe around you as you make your way through the day.

Day dreaming is very, very hard for me. My husband can do it so easily and I am, unfortunately, more a grounded (too grounded) realist. So day dreaming is work for me. But, I am getting better at it. I meditate, listen to awesome music and day dream while sending out good energy and feelings.

As I day dream, it helps focus on client work and being in the moment.

So – I wish for you a day dreamer’s moment today!

I have missed posting what I have been thankful for the last week or so. Life rather got in the way, but by doing this adventure, I would often find myself thinking about what I was grateful for – just didn’t get it written down.

We did something different for Thanksgiving this year. My husband, two dogs and I all went camping over the holiday. Now, that meant a lot of sacrifice on my part, because I missed the Black Friday shopping. This has been a tradition for at least 10 years and I love getting up at 1:00am and meeting my sister-in-law, nieces, and others at the mall by 3:00am. I have had the pleasure of being first in line at KMart once.

However, the weather is beautiful and in the high 40s, so camping was pulling on me. We loaded up Thanksgiving Day (after my kids left to go to their dad’s) and off we went. We camped in SE Utah in Yellow Cat, where we can see the backside of Arches National Monument. I read, watched some tv, read some more, hiked, did some target shooting, read some more, and we had a blast. We did bury the trailer hitch and front truck tires in the sand when leaving, but hey – a little adventure is good. Only took us 10 minutes to get out.

I am thankful for being able to choose where and how to spend my time and in a beautiful area like Grand Junction, Colorado.

I am thankful for my kids stopping by to see us and spend one night with us before heading off to Denver.

I am thankful for who I am. I have worked hard to be me, and it is always a work in progress.

I will continue to write down (somewhere) what I am thankful for each day and that the fact I can breathe, walk, hug, love, cry, smile, laugh, and more is worth be ever grateful on those days where everything seems to be rather gloomy.

And, really, really thankful my trailer had a heater!

I think this may be the most important day of all of the 30 days. Veterans Day.

First, I want to thank every single person who has ever been in, is currently serving, or thinking about joining the service. I am from the Viet Nam era. My husband served in Viet Nam, my dad in Korea, my grandfather in WW1, my cousins have been in the army, Marines, and more. My cousin Sandy was killed two weeks before he was to come home from Viet Nam.

I simply cannot express my appreciation enough or loudly enough for what you do. The strength that it takes to offer such sacrifices is lost on a lot of people who really don’t know, don’t appreciate, or cannot fathom what it takes and because of that – why we are a free republic and country.

Thank you!

Day 7 – Ah Saturday! On Saturday I was really thankful for being by myself. The DH had a trip to Denver hauling the Grand Junction High School football team to play in the state playoffs. I spent some time with my IAAP chapter members and then went window shopping. It was a pleasant and very duty-free day.

Day 8 – Sunday is a day to give praise to God and really be grateful for what I have, my family, and more. I made up for Saturday and cleaned out a bedroom. Very thankful that I set a goal and got it done. Have faith!

Day 9 – Monday! I was thankful for clients. It was a full day of client work and they were thankful I was here to help them. Is that called Reverse Thanks?

Day 10 – Today. Thankful and praiseful of marriage. I am giving thanks that I have a wonderful husband who is tolerate enough to drive school buses. He also tucks me in when he leaves at 5:30am every morning, after feeding the dogs and cats, and making awesome coffee. In a weird way, very thankful for a failed first marriage. Without that, I would never know how really truly great marriage and a partnership could be.

Today is Thursday. Thursdays are the days I deliver Meals on Wheels in Grand Junction.

I am very thankful that I am able to do this small giving to people who enjoy and need the service. I walk out of their apartments thankful that I can take time from my life to share their life, if only for a few moments. I have made friends among my deliverees and really like talking with them and seeing how they are doing.

I am thankful for all the volunteers that support this!

There is a wonderful and thought-provoking event happening. It is called the 30 Days of Thanks. Here is how it started.

The jist is to write each day about something you are thankful for. I know that many people, myself included, get so caught up in the daily life and especially what is not going right. Well, if you are a student of the Law of Attraction, you know that focusing on what is not working or those bumps in the road, that is exactly what you will attract.

So, for the next 30 days (since I am starting a few days late – just may go into December), I will be participating. What an awesome way to simply give thanks to God for even the littlest things.

Today:

I am grateful for family. I am lucky to have grown up in a very strong family. For the last 22 years, we have have all lived in the same town – I have three brothers, mom and her husband, an aunt, cousins, son, and nephew who all live here. Wow! Our family gatherings at the holidays are just the best – the best food, the best drink (which we need sometimes), and the best fun.

Although I may not see or talk to them on a daily basis, I do know that if I needed anyone of them in an emergency, they would be there.

Story: My mom had some health issues last year. At one point she did not even wake her husband up – she drove herself to the hospital in the middle of the night and just left him a note. At least she called me at 6:00am (snort!). Turns out she needed surgery so the brothers and I were marking time in the waiting room. Needless to say, waiting rooms are not very entertaining, but we apparently were for the other individuals that were in the room. We just were having great conversations, laughter, and more.

Picture this – the waiting room is on the bottom floor of the hospital. Not great cell phone coverage. So, at one point I was riding the elevators to different floors so I could use my cell phone to call my husband and kids with status updates. My older (and supposedly smarter) brother was walking around in the waiting room with his arm held high trying to find the strongest signal. An hour into this, what happens? The phone in the waiting room rings. (Big snort and lots of laughter here.) Who would have thought of using an actual landline to call anyone?

There was a woman who commented on our behavior (which to my mom’s chagrin is often), and just loved us. So we made her write a note to our mom saying how great we were, how entertaining, and how she was lucky to have us. The moment our mom was lucid we made sure to give that to her!

Ultimately, you choose your friends, your clients, but cannot choose your family. I am so grateful for my family in so many ways.

I have had this book for many years and have managed to read it on a sporadic basis.

Why do I want to do it this year? My goal is to simplify my life. Get rid of things, do more with less – this may mean I have less things to clutter my house, attic, and thus – less to dust!

Yesterday’s reading was excellent advice on restoring serenity to our daily endeavors. Sarah tells a brief story about a woman who begins to brush her teeth, only to spot her unmade bed out of the corner of her eye. So – she starts to make her bed while foaming at the mouth because she starts another task before finishing the first one! Do you find that you do this?

Women are often excellent multi-taskers – especially if you have been a mom. Bouncing a baby on one hip, fixing dinner with the other, while herding the other kids or talking to the husband. Phew! I remember those days and I appreciate the fact that I could do this when young.

I know now, that things really do need my full attention and then some in order to excellent, quality work or give someone my full attention.

My goal? To recover my sanity (okay, this may be a lost cause), complete one task at a time, concentrate slowly on each task, and gain an inner peace and serenity.

Sarah states that you will, indeed, “accomplish all you set out to do and need to do with much more ease, efficiency, pleasure, and satisfaction when you merge mind, body, and spirit with the task at had.”

Best of all? Serenity here I come!
